Berlin Biennial

There was a festive atmosphere as Berlin celebrated the opening of the Berlin Biennial {and the arrival of a the much anticipated & long-awaited summer}. All venues were packed out as we all attempted to get a glimpse of the work before surrendering to a cold beer outside. My pick so far is Shannon Ebner {best known for her photographic and sculptural works that investigate language and its meaning}. For me, her project at the Kunst-Werke managed to overcome the crowds and the heat to stand-out.

ART MARATHON....

It's a bit late to be sharing Art Cologne with you, but to be fair {fare?} the art marathon has only just ended as I limped over the finishing line at the Berlin Gallery Weekend. Cologne seemed to be riddled with taxidermy and doors, with the triangle still holding the top position for favourite shape. My pick was the Henri Chopin concrete poetry compliments of Supportico Lopez gallery: http://www.supporticolopez.com/?p=312

Guerilla Platz Painting

Neon paint was dumped in the middle of Rosenthaler Platz in Berlin early one morning recently to create colourful chaos. Drivers cursed the Platz painting guerillas as they unwittingly spread the paint through the Platz creating neon rainbows as they drove by.
